  • Egypt: Trial date for Muslim Brotherhood chief, his two deputies and three other group members for their alleged involvement in protesters’ deaths.
  • Egypt: Trial of former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak will resume.
  • Madagascar: Presidential elections.
  • Sri Lanka: UN rights chief Navi Pillay will begin a five-day visit in connection with allegations that Sri Lankan troops killed up to 40,000 civilians in the final stages of an ethnic war with Tamil rebels in 2009 (to 29AUG).
  • Ukraine: If the Ukrainian parliament adopts a law on repeat elections of members of the Verkhovna Rada in the troubled constituencies, elections will take place.
