The heart of TRG’s approach to Strategic Counsel is a rigorous communications
planning methodology centered on a Strategic Planning Session (SPS).
The planning session, in effect, is a dedicated think tank of
subject matter experts, seasoned strategists, client representatives, and other
key planners whose mission is to develop a multi-layered communications plan.
The SPS assesses resources; analyzes missions, goals, objectives, strengths
and weaknesses; and identifies audiences, messages, and delivery systems. TRG
senior strategists synthesize the planning session results into a road
map for implementation of communications initiatives.
The plan includes recommendations for activities, staffing, and timetables. Monitoring and feedback mechanisms, which enable adaptive strategies and program adjustments, are described; as are methodologies for measuring the effectiveness of the effort.
Some recommended activities will be suited to a client’s in-house communications functions, others will fit into TRG’s area of expertise, and still others may require third-party firms.
